Rally for Mental Health Parity on June 10th - Cancelled
The rally has been cancelled because of ceremonies for President Reagan and
attendant security precautions. But please use the links below to learn
more about the proposed legislation.
June 4, 2004—Each year, untreated mental illness costs the U.S. economy
billions of dollars and exacts a terrible toll as people with mental illnesses
and their
families struggle to access services. Yet private insurers continue
to evade the spirit of a 1996 law passed to end discrimination against people
with
mental illnesses, instead finding other ways to limit coverage
of needed services.
Mental health parity must be deferred no longer.
Please join the Mental Health Liaison Group (MHLG)-of which the Bazelon Center
