How to Submit Your Comments

Comments on Proposed Medicaid Rules

Comments must be submitted before the dealine shown in the proposed rules, which will also list a filecode number that must be referenced both in the comments in in transmission, as indicated below. They may be submitted in one (and only one--no duplication) of four ways--no fax:

• Electronically, via http://www.regulations.gov. Follow the instructions for ``Comment or Submission'' and enter the filecode to find the document accepting comments.

• Regular mail,* one original and two copies, to: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, Attn: [filecode], P.O. Box 8016, Baltimore, MD 21244-8016.

• Express/overnight mail, one original and two copies, to: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, Attn: [filecode], Mail Stop C4-26-05, 7500 Security Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21244-1850.

• By hand or courier,* one original and two copies, at either a Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD address.
  • If delivering to the Baltimore address, call (410) 786-7195 in advance to schedule an appointment to deliver comments at 7500 Security Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21244-1850.
  • If delivering to the Washington address, comments may be dropped off at: Room 445-G, Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC. Because security is restricted in the Hubert Humphrey Building, individuals are encouraged to leave comments in the CMS drop slots in the main lobby.
    

* Note that comments mailed or sent by courier may be delayed and could be received after the deadline.
