Dana Bazelon
Dana is a law clerk for the Honorable Michael M. Baylson in the Eastern
District of Pennylvania. She graudated from Georgetown University Law
Center in Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2007 where she was a member
of the Criminal Justice Clinic and an editor of the Annual Survey of
the American Criminal Law Review.
Dana attended Amherst College, graduating magna cum laude in 2002.
She promptly moved to Washington, where she spent two years working
at the Alliance for Justice. In the fall of 2004, she ran a nationwide
student action campaign to educate law students on the importance of
the federal judiciary and to raise awareness about the increasing politicization
of the judicial nominations process in Washington.
In the summer of 2005, Dana worked for Senator Edward M. Kennedy's
Judiciary Committee Staff, researching legislative proposals and preparing
for the confirmation hearing of Chief Justice Roberts. She is deeply
committed to the cause of equal justice and the rights of people with
mental illnesses.
Dana is the granddaughter of Judge David L. Bazelon. Though she never
knew her grandfather, his legacy guides many of her professional choices
and aspirations.
