Anastasia Pappas
Anastasia is a freelance writer,
producer and consultant for branding and image campaigns in cable television.
Current clients include MTV, MTVU, HBO, Cinemax, Logo and VH-1. She
became interested in mental health advocacy after launching a series
of anti-stigma ads for MTV and the Ad Council called “Change
Your Mind.” In 2004 she partnered with Magnum photographer Gilles
Peress to create a short film about bipolar disorder for Lizzie Simon's "Detour" campaign,
and is currently working with Peress on a book with a similar theme.
Anastasia is the recipient of three Broadcast Design Awards, two Art
Directors Club Gold and an Emmy nomination. Her work has been featured
twice in Adweek’s Best of the Year. Highlights include a Katrina
Relief campaign with U2, Fight for Your Rights with Russell Simmons,
and the launch and branding of HBO’s Entourage.
In long-form media, Anastasia co-produced and directed “Circle” and “Portraits
of the Artists” starring Eddie Izzard (Ella Communications), “The
Red Hot Chili Peppers Super-Live Spectaculon” (Propaganda Films), “Spoken
and Stirred” with Anderson Cooper (Cinemax) and “Thunderbirds:
the Fashion Defenders” for MTV Animation.
Anastasia was born in Media, Pennsylvania and commutes between New
York City and Bucks County. She lives with her French Bulldog, Jimmy.
