Alexis Chappell
Alexis is currently a student at the University of North Carolina School
of Law in Chapel Hill, NC. After graduating from American University
magna cum laude
in 2005, she became a Chapters Coordinator at Active Minds, Inc., where
she was in charge of helping college students start new chapters of
the
mental health awareness organization. Alexis also founded the chapter
of Active Minds at American University when she was a student.
During college, Alexis interned with various mental health organizations,
including the D.C. Public Defender Service's Mental Health Division
and the Bazelon Center.
Alexis is a 2007 recipient of Mental Health America's mpower award
for her efforts to raise awareness of mental health issues among America's
youth.
