Jennifer Mathis, Esq.

Jennifer
Mathis, Esq. works primarily on the Medicaid rights of adults and
children, discrimination claims under the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA). Her work includes litigation on community integration
claims, voting rights, and the parental rights of individuals with
mental
disabilities.
Much
of her work has focused on federalism issues that have threatened
enforcement of federal disability rights laws in the courts. Before
accepting a position with the Bazelon Center, she conducted litigation
involving ADA, Section 504, the Fair Housing Act and Title XIX
claims
with the Disabilities Law Project (Pittsburgh, PA). She also practiced
with a private firm, where she pursued litigation on a broad array
of civil rights issues. Mathis holds an A.B. from Harvard University,
a M.A. in Social Studies Education from New York University, and
a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
